I bring up Italy’s chart not to chastise them, but to point out that we are not ready to go back to our regularly scheduled program (p.s. However, with Jupiter (big) and Pluto (death) in that 1st House of the chart and that Sun in Taurus in the 5th House, ruling that 8th House in the chart (the zone associated with death) - it seems this risky decision (the 5th house also rules gambling) - won’t come without its consequences. Venus is also under siege in this chart in the 6th House - the zone that has to do with health and well-being, and that Virgo Moon in the 9th House shows people wanting their freedom back, to work (Virgo) and play (Mercury rules Virgo and is in the 5th House in Taurus here). ![]() Neptune being in Pisces and being in the 3rd House (the zone of close social interaction/contact) suggests illness by way of a communicable disease - like a virus. I also don’t like the fact that Venus (socializing, social events and gatherings) and the Moon (the people of the country) in this chart are caught up in a T-square (a three-way battle) with Neptune in Pisces which in astrology is a placement that weakens the immune system and Pisces in particular is a sign associated with transmissible diseases as well as diseases that affect the lungs like pneumonia. But planned events that take place with the Ascendant in the very early degrees of a zodiac sign (usually between 0-3 degrees) are often considered events that have a rushed or premature quality to them, which can delay or deny a favorable outcome. In Italy’s re-opening chart, the chart has a super early Capricorn ascendant, which suggests that the motivation for rushing back outside is economy (and government) driven - as indicated by Saturn and Mars being housed in the money zone of the chart. Here in the United States, there’s been a lot of talk and a lot of protests in favor of re-opening the country and getting back to work and restarting the economy, and as my friend Janelle and I have said on the most recent episode on our Stars On Fire podcast, nobody should be looking to rush back outside anytime soon. Recorded during quarantine life, in Boston, NYC, and Chicago, this project underscores resilient elementals, energies in terms of fire, water, air, and earth” Each track is quite different, consistent with the often vast differences among the Zodiac signs and their types. Here, jazz, spoken word and hip hop orbits and dances together. Collaborating with astrologers Mecca Woods and Boro the Lucky Libra - both hailing from the Bronx - we developed tracks that musically impressionize each Zodiac sign. In its place, this extended spiritual knowledge of self is crucial in our lifetime. ![]() “ A yearning to learn more about the Zodiac - types and celestial influence for The Good - I’ve been inspired toward a fresh project. Trumpeter, Composer and Producer, Marquis Hill releases a 12 track cosmic musical journey through the zodiacs in the form of a spoken word infused beat tape. Not only did I love Marquis’ work and thought it would be cool to be a part of this project, but I knew that doing this would help me tap back into a part of myself that I’d been disconnected from for a very long time. Marquis had the idea to do an astrology themed album and invited me to collaborate with him on it. Then, about two months ago, I received an email from a very talented musician and composer, Marquis Hill. And then somewhere along the line, I kind of fell out of love with the scene and gave that part of myself up as I moved on to pursuing a new direction in my life and career. I wrote poetry, I dabbled in filmmaking, I performed onstage and at open mics, I went to all the underground art shows and indie concerts. Many of you may not know this but way back when (circa 2008), before I became an astrologer, I was a part of the indie art scene here in NYC for a few years. ![]()
